Care Instructions

Washing

• Machine wash cold, gentle cycle.
• Wash it alone the first time, in case any loose dye comes off.
• Mild detergent only. No bleach and no fabric softener — softener leaves a film on the fibre that dulls the print over time.

Drying

• Tumble dry low, or line dry out of direct sun.
• Pull it out slightly damp and smooth it flat — that removes most of the reason to iron it at all.
• No dry cleaning. The solvents are harder on a print than any wash.

Ironing

Optional. Low heat, from the reverse, never directly onto the printed face.

Storing

Fold it loosely into a breathable cotton bag, not sealed plastic. A quilt vacuum-packed for a season comes out creased and smelling of the cupboard.

Does it fade?

The colour is in the fibre rather than on the surface, so ordinary washing will not fade or crack it. Months of direct midday sun will fade any textile, this one included.
